| Jim Holmes "I retired in February of this year after almost 32 years with Delta Air Lines. I was flying the B-767 out of Atlanta at that time. My wife Gloria and I have two sons, one daughter-in-law and one grandson. I work at my church 2 to 3 days a week when I am in town. We travel a lot to visit the kids. One is in Sacramento and the other in St. Louis. We have one grandson in St. Louis with another on the way. My hobby is bird watching and I travel all over the US and the world for that hobby. I have made two trips to Africa in the last year. I really look forward to seeing all of the brothers. Most I will probably not recognize." |

| Jim Thomas After graduating from AU in '64, I spent five years in the U.S. Navy as an instructor at the Navy Nuclear Power School. I then returned to graduate school full time, earning the PhD in Nuclear Engineering at North Carolina State. Since 1974, I have been a professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Virginia Tech, earning the rank of Full Professor in 1984. Pictured with me are my wife Beth (AU '65, KKG), son John with his two children, and daughter Anne Elise. (John's wife Jennifer took the picture.) John is a Financial Analyst with the Pulliam Group in Winston-Salem, NC. Anne Elise is a PhD candidate at Brown University and is currently doing field research in Cairo, Egypt. My principal hobby is fly fishing, which occasions many trips to distant locales to try new streams, principally in the Rocky Mountain region of the U.S., though more exotic regions are in the plans after my impending retirement June 1, 2003. |

White After graduation in August 1964, I remained in Auburn as an instructor in the Aerospace Engineering Dept., enrolled in graduate school and earned an MS degree in AE in 1966. I retired from IBM Corporation in February, 2000 after a great 33+ year career. I also retired from the US Army Reserve in 1988 with the rank of Major where I was Director of I/T operations for the 121st US Army Reserve Command. Since retirement from IBM, I have enjoyed a new career as executive consultant to the executive vice president for I/T operations at Compass Bank in Birmingham. Shown in the picture with Susan and me are Laura Susan (far left, born in 1970) with her husband, Johnny Adams, and David Lionel (far right, born in 1974) with his wife, Joy, and Laurie's children, Will, 5 and Laura Beth, 2. My third grandchild, Morgan Elizabeth, was born December 11, 2001, to David and Joy. What a blessing they all are. Susan, (Kappa Alpha Theta '63) as some of you remember, was the first girl at Auburn to be "pinned" with a Delta Colony pin and also the first at Auburn to receive the "Black Diamond" sweetheart pin. Mom Karick was so excited at the time, as one of "her girls" had also become a "member" . Susan and I still remember the many days and nights spent in Mom Karick's room playing bridge. Laurie received her BA and MA degrees at LSU in Baton
Rouge, was elected homecoming queen, and was the first female SGA president
at LSU. Johnny received his BA at LSU and went on to graduate from the
LSU Law School. He is currently a regional manager with Lawyer's Title
Company in Baton Rouge. At the West Carolina game on September 7, I marched with the Auburn Alumni Band at half-time for the 16th straight year. Susan and I are charter members of the Alumni Band which started in 1987. Many of you certainly remember Dr. Johnny Vinson, our brother, who is the current Director of Bands at Auburn. Glenn Cowham, Ed Mixon, and Glenn Bannister have also been regular participants with the Alumni Band. Some of my most cherished memories are renovating and moving into the Delta Colony house in the Fall of '61, "THE FIRE" on January 13, 1962, being one of the delegates to the "114th Great Southwest Ekklesia" in Dallas, August 1962, where we petitioned for the charter, and the chartering initiation in October, 1962. Our reunion is a great time for remembering and celebrating our "brotherhood - not for college days alone". |
